Staghills Nursery School

A place where children lead the learning

Keeping Children Safe and Happy

Welcome to our school

On behalf of all staff and governors I would like to welcome you to Staghills Nursery School . The school was established in 1955 and many children's parents and grandparents remember attending. The Nursery School has been expanded to meet demand from the community and now offers 190  places for 2 to 5 year old children. The outdoor play areas have been continually developed and many children choose outside as their learning environment. Our Forest School is a really magical place where children explore the natural world .

The aims of the school are to create a vibrant, friendly school community
for all that engenders delight and enthusiasm in learning and confident,
committed members of society through outstanding early education and
care within a culture that places well-being and safeguarding at its
centre.

We aim to recognise and respect every child and their family members as unique individuals. As a staff team we have discussed and negotiated our 'Image of the Child', what we think is important for children.

The organisation is committed to making sure everyone has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.  We regard the organisation as a learning community where staff, parents and children learn together from each other.

"At the heart of every child is a unique genius and personality. What we should be doing is allowing the spark of that genius to catch fire, to burn brightly and shine."  Michael Morpurgo.

Safeguarding is Everybody's Priority

At Staghills Nursery School, keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do.  Safeguarding is everybody’s priority.

I hope you find our website helpful and look forward to meeting you.
